Split, most of you probably heard of it if you ever visited Croatia because it’s the first stop for most of our tourists, being second largest city in Croatia and a intraregional transport hub where you can catch a ferry to one of the islands in the Adriatic. But it’s not just a port, it’s a tourist destination with a centuries-old history, architecture and one of the most beautiful promenades.
In a few photos that I’ve taken of Split I’ll try and show you how beautiful it is.
As I mentioned before, one of my grandfathers was from the island of Brač and the other from the island of Korčula. Source: Creamy confetti corn with bacon
Last week I was at the seaside taking walks on the beach and enjoying every ray of sunshine, but returning to Zagreb it took me a few days to adapt to the low temperatures that welcomed me back. It’s even hard to believe that a day ago it was snowing near Zagreb and this part of year everybody should be barbecuing outside. We are also planning a family barbecue next weekend so hope the sun will finally bring up the mid-April-winter temperatures.
Until then we are left with hearty soups and stews to keep us warm. One of the tastiest soups in my cookbook is Green pea soup with crispy bacon.
