The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS June 11, 2022

Friday’s here! And so am I with your Stream of Consciousness Saturday prompt. I got totally caught up in a behavioral science channel on Youtube yesterday. Gotta stay away from it today and get things done. You know … change my behavior. *rolls eyes* Here’s your prompt:

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “a picture from wherever.” When you sit down to write your post, find a picture, whether in a magazine, newspaper, or even product packaging. Write whatever thought or emotion the picture provokes. Enjoy!

After you’ve written your Saturday post tomorrow, please link it here to this week’s prompt page and check to make sure it’s here in the comments so others can find it and see your awesome Stream of Consciousness post. Anyone can join in!

To make your post more visible, use our beautiful SoCS badge! Just paste it in your Saturday post…

Gay Black Actors and Celebrity

There is a long history of black actors and actresses who have been gay or bisexual.

In the past, it was not publicly acceptable to be out as a black actor.

The first openly gay black actor was probably Billy Porter in 1991.

In recent years, there has been an increase in the number of people coming out as gay or bisexual.

This is because the entertainment industry is more accepting now than ever before.

What are the Challenges for LGBTQ+ Tourists?

LGBTQ+ tourists experience many challenges when they travel. They may feel unsafe or unwelcome in some destinations and they may not feel comfortable interacting with locals. LGBTQ+ tourists also face challenges when they are looking for accommodation or a place to eat.

There are many ways that tourism organizations can help make LGBTQ+ tourists feel more welcome and safer. These include:

-Including LGBTQ+ people in marketing campaigns

-Including LGBTQ+ people in destination campaigns

-Providing a map of LGBTQ+ friendly places to visit

-Offering inclusive services, such as gender neutral bathrooms.
