Fractured Figures – #poetry #NovemberWriting

Night Owl Poetry - Dorinda Duclos

It is that time in life

When we are no longer agile

We bend, merely to break

That time, when we fight, only

To fall apart, back into the earth

Splintered pieces of who we were

Fractured figures, once grand in stature

Lying silently, among the moss and dirt

ACRAFT Christmas Decoration Handmade Lantern String Lights for Patio Rustic Metal Cage with Industrial Style Black Pendant Lighting for Tree Branches Outdoor Garden 10 Bulbs 7.1ft

I love different Christmas lights, and I think ACRAFT have found them, in their unique string lights.  These ones are Rustic Metal Cage Lantern String Lights, and one of a kind.

They are battery operated, which are not included with the product.  You will need 3 AA batteries to use them.  I have taken photos of the lights off, and then switched on, in daylight.  You can see how unusual they are.

From the Amazon webpage:

INDUSTRIAL STYLE: A product with artistic expression but yet stays with his product roots, this classic design can fit into just about any rustic, vintage or minimalistic style.

Waterproof & PLASTIC TWIST TIES: Waterproof IP44 (not battery box); Twist ties are convenient for you to tie lights on cables or trees.’

Snowy Egret In Dry Marsh Grass

The dry and drab marsh grasses added a nice contrast to this little Snowy. Not a bit of excitement here. The Egret was doing exactly what they do 90% of the time. Sitting and scratching.

I think we might not see any in the marshes at all soon. Colder weather seems to push them to the shore, and a little south.

The Door Opens

method two madness

the door opens s

‘We who still labour by the cromlech on the shore,
The grey cairn on the hill, when day sinks drowned in dew,
Being weary of the world’s empires, bow down to you,
Master of the still stars and of the flaming door.’
—W.B. Yeats
‘The Valley of the Black Pig’

the door opens magnetic

Once again I’ve consulted the Magnetic Oracle about one of Jane Dougherty’s Yeats quotes–this one from Day Nineteen.  The Oracle zoned right in on the stars and the flaming door.  Of course that’s always compatible with my artistic pursuits as well…

the door opens close up s

In the shadorma form for Shadorma November.

Stars breathe frost
ancient as soul stones–
deep cold fire,
sacred, dark–
roots that wander wild, leaving
paths seeded with light
