Smoked Sausage & White Bean Soup – Instant Pot or Stove-top

Frugal Hausfrau

It could very well be that I’m in denial! I am astonished each time it snows! I do live in Minnesota, but really? Snow twice last week and again the other day. But snow to me = soup, so soup it is. Again. 🙂

Repose ~ Pic and a Word Challenge #112

Pix to Words

I paddle on the water, rippley
The lake upon my shoulders, heavy
This effort bringing me repose
When following where nature goes
Paddling
Maligne Lake
Jasper National Park
Alberta, Canada

Taken during travels, 2017

Last week we panned for Gold. This week, let’s bask in Repose. Or find something else to inspire your creativity in this photograph of kayakers on Maligne Lake in Jasper National Park, Alberta.

The Pic and a Word Challenge is a weekly creativity prompt offered Sundays.

Each week I provide a photograph of mine along with a single word. The challenge? Use the pic and/or word as points of inspiration to create something — a photograph, a painting, prose, poetry, fiction, non-fiction, longread or just a few words. You are welcome to use these two elements (photograph and word) literally, thematically or metaphorically. If you create both images and words, all the better.

As with most challenges lingering in the back of my mind, and with camera in hand – I started noticing “special trees” … one tree at a time.  To me, special trees are the ones unique in stature,  the ones which submit a unique perspective or character, seem to tell a story, or propose a special message.  Quickly, the number of trees in my files expanded…
