Coming Out Of The Closet #LGBT

Hugh's Views & News

One the biggest regrets of my life is that I never sat down with my Mother and told her that I’m gay. I chose, instead, the easy option of writing to her and telling her that her oldest son was a homosexual.

Facing Mum for the first time, after writing that letter, I was very nervous as I travelled to where she lived. I hesitated several times before walking up to the front door, ringing the doorbell, and announcing my arrival. What a shock I got when she came towards me with open arms and, as she gave me one of her wonderful hugs, hearing her whisper the words “I always knew you were gay, I don’t know why it took you so long to tell me.”

A Glass Of You

CALLIOPE'S LYRE

A Glass Of You

A glass of you

Just for me

Would sustain my soul

For eternities

But I chase you

And I taste you

Like the traces of fragrance

That lost its way

A few faded moonbeams

Forgotten on the earth after

The break of day

Like fresh water lost in

The salt of the ocean

A thought centered by its

Own gravity, in the midst

Of perpetual motion

No, my heart

You would leave me to starve

And I happily would too

We lovers, seemingly,

Aspire to sink

And you could nourish me

If you were as real

As substantial

As the bitter words I drink

Some nights we pour,

We smile, and

We down

Some nights, we laugh

And

We

Drown

The Color your World challenge will run January through April, for 120 days, with a new Crayola color topic posting each day. Join in daily, or post at your leisure.

Enter your photos, drawings, quotes, poems, stories, anything, as long as it is inspired by the color of the day.

Since this is a daily challenge, I will not have time to compile a link list daily for participant entries, however, (1) tag your post #cyw or #coloryourworld so others can follow along in the reader, (2) share your link in the comment section of each color post and (3) sign up on the home page. When you fill out the form on the home page, a link to your blog will be added at the bottom of that post – that way other participants can find all your challenge posts.
